It is alloy with enhanced resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion and stress corrosion cracking. It is a super alloy, meaning that it has higher strength than standard alloy materials. It is primarily composed of nickel and molybdenum and comes in several grades. The parts made from Hastelloy metal blends tend to find good use across a wide range of chemical applications that might otherwise oxidize the metal.
